Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
BackPocket is designed to keep your information private and on your own device. This policy explains what that means in practice.
The short version
BackPocket does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Everything you save stays on your device. There is no account and no sign-up.
What we store, and where
- Your saved items (text, links, images, files, documents, templates, and the fields extracted from them) are stored locally on your device.
- Sensitive values you mark are encrypted at rest on your device and protected behind your device biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID) or passcode.
- BackPocket does not send your saved content to us or to any third party.
On-device processing
Text extraction (OCR), Smart Field detection, and automatic grouping all run on your device. Your content is not uploaded for processing.
Optional iCloud sync
If you explicitly turn on iCloud sync (it is off by default), your data is synchronised through your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. It is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer cannot see this data.
The custom keyboard
The BackPocket keyboard operates without “Full Access.” It cannot send data off your device. It reads only a sanitised snapshot of your own saved items so you can insert them into other apps.
Purchases
BackPocket Pro is an optional subscription processed by Apple. Purchase validation is handled through RevenueCat solely to unlock features; it does not receive your saved content or personal identity.
Analytics and tracking
BackPocket contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs that collect your personal data. The app does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
Children
BackPocket does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
